Naperville pays tribute in many ways
While the parade is certainly a time honored tradition in naperville, it is not the only way we stop to honor our veterans or the fallen on memorial day:
Memorial day weekend: decorating over 2,000 graves of veterans
memorial day morning at 7:45 am: services at veterans monuments
7:45am- flag raising ceremony at city hall
8:15am- Service at veteran's park
8:35am- Service at burlington square
9:00am- service at s.s. peter and paul ceremony
9:45am- service at g.a.r. monument
Memorial day morning at 10:30 am: the parade
Central park after the parade at 12:15pm (11:30AM if parade is cancelled): memorial day ceremony
including service at Blackhawk/silver star memorials
The ceremonies and grave decoration take place regardless of parade status.
All are welcome at these events.
